The current Apple TV 4K has been around for a year or so but there could be a refreshed version announced before the end of the year.
We’ve been hearing for the last few months that Apple is working on a new Apple TV, and there are a few things we can probably expect from it.
While we’re yet to get any concrete information as to what the rumored Apple TV refresh will entail, we’re now fairly confident that it’s coming after Bloomberg’s mark Gurman recently suggested it could arrive before the end of 2022, and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo made similar noises earlier this year.
Now, MacRumors has reminded us all of some of the features we might get.
A new chip is table stakes at this point, with a new A14 Bionic likely to be the upgrade from the older A12 Bionic. beyond that, more RAM should also make for improved performance and likely a better gaming experience.
In terms of externally, the new Apple TV is expected to get a new Siri remote after iOS 16 beta code outed it. little us known about what that new remote will offer, but we can only hope it’s better than the last few. support for find My via a U1 chip would be nice, though.
Next up, price. Apple’s boxes have always been at the costly end of the scale and it’s hoped that the next Apple TV will be cheaper this time around. With Apple expected to hold an event in the next few weeks to announce iPads and Macs, we might find out soon enough.
